Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They allow websites to remember information about your visit, such as your login status and preferences. Some cookies are essential for the site to function; others are used for analytics or advertising. We keep our cookie usage to a minimum.

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for SweepHound to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

CookieProviderPurposeDuration
__sessionClerkMaintains your authenticated sessionSession
__client_uatClerkTracks the last authentication update for session freshnessSession

Functional Storage

We store your theme preference (light or dark mode) in localStorage. This is not technically a cookie, but we disclose it here for transparency. It contains no personal information and is only read by client-side code to apply your chosen color scheme.

Analytics

We use PostHog for product analytics, configured in cookieless mode. PostHog uses in-memory-only persistence — it does not set any cookies on your device, does not write to localStorage, and does not track you across sessions or sites. Page-view data is anonymous. Account-level product events (e.g. scan completions, subscription changes) are pseudonymous and tied to your tenant account. No consent banner is required because no cookies are involved. SweepHound does not load Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tracking scripts.

Third-Party Cookies

Stripe may set cookies when you interact with payment forms on billing pages. These cookies are used for fraud prevention and payment processing. They are only loaded on pages where payment functionality is present. See Stripe's privacy policy for details.

How to Control Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, view which cookies are stored, and set per-site preferences. Note that disabling essential cookies (specifically the Clerk session cookies listed above) will prevent you from logging in and using authenticated features of SweepHound.

Updates

We may update this cookie policy as our use of cookies changes. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For broader data practices, see our Privacy Policy.
